Wizuda are delighted to announce their partnership with the Irish GDPR Awareness Coalition; a not-for-profit fixed-term initiative established in February 2017 to raise awareness of the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation. The GDPR comes into effect on May 25th 2018 and drastically affects the data privacy and protection responsibilities of any organisation handling EU citizens’ data.
With 65 other companies, representing a vast array of subject matter experts; the Coalition’s main goal is to raise awareness and simplify the GDPR compliance requirements for affected organisations.
To set up the Coalition; founder and Co-Chair, Garry Connolly, who currently serves as President and Founder of ‘Host in Ireland’ has paired up with Dr. Dennis Jennings, Chairman and non-executive director of a number of Irish technology-based companies including Wizuda.
The coalition will provide detailed and helpful infographics on all aspects of GDPR, along with a full calendar of related upcoming events in Ireland. We know by now that it’s essential for organisations to work together to ensure GDPR compliance, and the creation of the Awareness Coalition has reinforced this.
The message here is simple – organisations must unite to overcome the difficulties of the new GDPR laws, and to create awareness for those smaller firms that are not yet ready. The slogan on the Irish GDPR Awareness Coalition sums this up perfectly: “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
